FBI raids Toyota supplier

Sure does look like a witch hunt:

NEW YORK — Toyota supplier Denso Corp. says the FBI and Department of Justice have raided its U.S. headquarters as part of an antitrust investigation.

Denso spokeswoman Julie Kerr says the supplier's office, located in Southfield, Mich., was raided on Tuesday. She says the company is cooperating with the investigation, but declined to offer details of what the government was looking for.

Kerr says the investigation is unrelated to Toyota's recent recalls. Denso is a major parts supplier for Toyota and is one of two suppliers of its gas pedals. While gas pedals from the other supplier were involved in Toyota's sticky accelerator recall, Denso's have not been implicated.

Without knowing the details of why they are doing this (although I have my suspicions), I am still of the opinion that a government out of control is one that ultimately should be changed by its citizens. Thanks for posting this gprince!

Michigan ?? That wasn't the FBI. It was the Detroit auto workers trying to destroy the documents that show that they paid the supplier to alter the parts used in Toyota vehicles. LOL..

Anyway.... listened to most of the hearing today. There were SOME high points when the subject of electrical issues (if that's what it ends up to even be) are something possible in almost ALL new vehicles.

...... The REST was an insulting march down Toyotas throat. I really was embarrassed to be an American at times for the way some of those jack ass representatives treated our Toyota guests. Their line of questioning could have been asked of ANY CEO of ANY current manufacturer and they would have received the same answers. NO CEO of any automotive company is going to say on record that they are 100% positive that their cars have no defect in the electronics that could cause sudden acceleration.

Amen brother! We sure do look like the White Devil that the rest of the world sees us as............ All the Americans this corporation has put to work while the greedy Bastards in Detroit were moving their operations to other countries for the cheap labor as they fly around in their Gulfstreams and this is the thanks they get. Makes me vomit in my mouth! I'm really thinking about trading my Dodge 1ton for a Tundra just out of principle.

Why are they being raided for antitrust? According to Denso, in 2001 they had a 15% market share in dash gauges world wide. Have they grown so much that they are in violation of antitrust law?

Toyota is taking a beating and everyone of the political flunkies wants to jump on the band wagon and get their blows in. Very sad.
