Toyota needs to rethink this You can buy a Chevy 5.3 Z71 decked out 4 door for 26000 Toyota would want closer to 36000 don't change stuff just lower the price. My 07 sr5 double cab standard bed msrp war 32000 i paid 28000 still could have gotten a lot more creature comforts had i gone with the big 3 but i love the tundra too much couldn't sell out.

Why would you want a 5.3L? How about comparing apples to apples and price the 6.0L GM?

Had the 6.0L, and it doesn't compare. I think the closer would be the Denali package with the 6.2L and 6speed tranny. Can't get them any cheaper than $39,000. I tried really hard. Don't regret the Tundra one bit though.

only reason i said 5.3 was because i know someone with that setup who only paid 26 i think the 6.0 is only a couple thousand more.4x4 crew max limited starts out 42,995 Denali 39270 not too far apart on top end just seems like everyone gets such great deals and with Toyota they go down a little i sure would love to have 4wd turn signal mirrors fog lights and remote start for 2000 less then i paid but i also want to know my truck wont fall apart that's why i got the tundra plus my last tundra had the 4.7 had to get the 5.7

All, With being a DAV/DoD member I was able to get a lot of sweet deals on Ford, Dodge and GM vechicles. I looked at and drove everything from a Lincoln Mark-Pickup to the 400HP Denali by GMC. Here's what I found based on ending up with SWEET CrewMax Limited 4x4. The Big Fords are above the F-150 a little more towing capacity to a LOT more towing capacity, but I don't tow and who in there right mind buys the last of a style. With Ford changing the F-150 in 2009 that 2008 will be worth nothing in 2009. The GMC with the 6.2L are a rated at little more HP but with YODA 4.3 rearend and 6 speed the quickness is with the YODA. I didn't even drive the Nissan as I didn't like the way they looked. The Dodge was offering some pretty GREAT incentives but with a new Dodge coming out in 2009 same as the Fords. Plus, I don't want to drive the same truck that half the guys in Colorado are driving and the YODA was a damn sight faster and plus more leg room. ALL IN ALL THE YODA RULES THE THE BUNCH. I KNOW I DID MY RESEARCH and VOTED WITH MY MONEY. Had I picked a better dealer I would still be smiling from ear to ear. Although with Costco I got $13K off MSRP
