    spark plugs

I'm currently at 98,000 miles and will need to change the spark plugs soon. I want to get at least OEM quality if not better. Any suggestions? I want the best ones, but not ones that run too hot, I don't want to F things up with hotter plugs. I'm also going to change the transmission fluid and whatever else comes at 100k maintenance schedule. What's all done at 100k? any links to that info? thanks in advance

should I even change them or just check them out? I imagine they would be pretty clean, then again I don't know how they work...but I feel like I've got a pretty clean engine.

OEM should be iridium. I would definitely change the transmission fluid and coolant. Do the differential(s) (and transfer case if 4x4) if they haven't been done in a while. Diff and transfer case are easy to DIY.
Any questions about truck mods I have done need to be asked in the forums. Don't send me a private message about mods cause I probably won't answer that PM unless there is money involved.

At 60,000 I pulled out my OEM Denso Iridium plugs. They looked almost new... I replaced them with NGK Iridiums. I felt exactly NO Difference.
Sooo just remove "one" and check it out. You'll probably just want to clean them up, check the gap, and put it back in! or you can't go wrong with replacing them and waiting for another 100K miles to pass..

Since I replaced my water pump recently, does that count as coolant flush, or is this a separate thing? As far as spark plugs, I figure Just get them done since the truck will be at my buddy's shop....save time and cash in future.

I would think that they would have had to do the coolant flush when they did the water pump so you should be good for another 50 or 100K miles (check your manual - I can't remember if it is every 100K miles or 100K initially and then every 50K thereafter).

No problem with the changing the plugs early - the manual just lists it at 120K.

Bad plugs can make your mpg drop. Doesn't hurt to clean them or replace them early.
