What are you guys changing the OEM oil at? Dealer says 5000, seams high for break in. Others say you must leave it in for 5000 miles?

I don't own a Tundra but I do own a new state of the art 5.6L engine with 104,000 miles on it and I always change the oil and filter at 1000 miles with Dino oil and then again at 3000 miles to Synthetic and then I have an oil analysis done at 7K to see how the oil is holding up and how the engine is looking. I know what they say but I'm old school and I know that there is a lot of junk that gets introduced into the oil during the breakin process and I just feel better getting it out of the lube system. I also always change the rear diff fluid at 3K at the 2nd oil change for the same reason.

LakeShore Toyota told me that they initially use the dino oil and recommend the first oil change at 3000 miles.

Were changing ours out at 5000 miles (Dealer recomended). Typically we do it every 3000 miles but since were already over 4000 and have neglected to change it 5000 will work this time.

I think I'm going with this route, after the first change I'm going with Royal Purple
