Toxarch, thanks for the write-up! Also, thanks to Alaskaclub, POS71RS, Mainliner, & Slim463 for their write-ups regarding this topic.

For those wondering; yes, this mod works on the 08' models as well. The procedure and parts on my 08' were identical to that shown here for the 07'.

Thanks again!

Great post! The dealer can disable the passenger seat seatbelt chime feature for free. But this is great for the driver seat b/c apparently that cant be disabled. Except by the intelligent owners of these trucks. I cant wait to go out there and do it. Thanks.

Thanks Toxarch, was getting tired of my wife and kids talking about the noise all the time. Works great, I used large paper clip end to click the board off.

Is it not possible to do the exact same procedure on the passenger side seat belt? That's the one that bugs me. If I have a bag or something heavy enough to trigger the sensor, I will get a false chime or a chime that just doesn't stop until I move the bag or buckle the belt. The dealer wouldn't disable it for me.

Thanks for this write up. My girlfriend complains about it everytime she gets in the car because it starts beeping before she gets the chance to buckle her belt.

Yes, you can do this on the passenger seatbelt.

This last week I have had someone riding with me everyday. I have noticed that the passenger airbag light stays at "off" again. Seems that after a while of using the seatbelt, it moves the sensor and remains in the off position or something like that. I'm going to open it up tomorrow again and see if I can tape it in place or use some thread to hold it in place.

Does the seatbelt light still flash if your seatbelt isn't buckled or is that disabled as well when you disable the chime?

That's a good question.. does the "Airbag ON" light remain lit, or does it go out as if no one is in the seat? Are we disabling the chime or the seat weight sensor here?
