| trd supercharger install i'm about to install a trd supercharger on a 2008 dc 5.7. after the install,is it possible to drive(even slowly) to the dealer to get it reflashed? i only have 9 miles to go.i assume it'll be like a christmas tree when all the check engine lights come on ![]() will the dealer have the latest reflash that addresses the cold run issues? |

| Supposedly, you are not supposed to drive the truck at all without the reflash. Are you aware that the warranty in the S/C is only for a year if you install on your own? It will be under the same warranty as the truck (including extended warranties) if the dealer installs it.

| i'm aware of the warranty issue but figured if the blower is going to break,odds are it'll happen fairly rapidly. ![]() the install looks so easy and straightforward that i can't resist it anyway. i thought maybe a member might have tried to drive one after the install. i guess i'll make the decision to tow it or not once it's on and see how it runs(if it even starts). perhaps trd can answer that question? |
| |||
| As long as you keep the rpms very low (so that the supercharger isn't creating positive pressure displacement), and drive very sedately, I don't see how it would be a problem. But, it might not be worth the risk. Maybe see if someone can tow you (as much as I hate to say it)?

| i could also tie the vacuum door open for the short drive but will figure it out after the install and let you know how it goes(assuming it does go )give me few days! i'm surprised no one here has tried to do that yet.makes me wonder how many blowers were sold by trd? |
| ||||
| They sold quite a few. But most have the dealer install them to keep the longer warranty on the S/C. I think some dealers were charging $600-700 for install. |

| So you are the guy that beat me to it. lol.
