Any idea what caused the scratch? Looks too big and deep for a door ding. It's too high up on the door for a bumper rub. Maybe somebody grazed you with their mirror?

Things like this are better off letting someone who does this for a living fix it...I would

I scraped another truck my first week driving my truck. I work downtown Fort Worth and I was parking in a real tight garage. Well I was backing out of the parking spot and I cut the wheel too hard end up scratching the fender above the bumper and dented the bumper. Left a 2 foot scratch and dent in some guys truck, right on his back door and rear fender. Left a note but never heard from the guy. Crappy truck probably didn't even notice, my scratch was the smallest of like a ton of damage to the truck.

Anyway, I found it was very hard to maneuver a big ass truck after I had driven a small car for a long time. Also found that other people had problems in that garage as my rear bumper has two nice sized dents from people running into it.

As far as I am concerned, once I got passed that first scratch, it made the rest of the scratches easier to accept. I figure as long as bare metal is not showing then I am cool.

Won't you be found at fault and see an increase in your rates?

Using insurance is never an option for me, because I have my deductible way to high, to have a lower rate.

You just have to shop around. There's usually an area in every town and city where these body shops congregate usually due to zoning laws so that should make it easier time wise. I kept taking my car to the same shops over and over looking for a better deal to have damage on my rear bumper repaired. One Thursday I walked in to one of these shops and the owner and his employees were playing checkers. I asked them if they wanted pocket money for the weekend. They came down off of their original quote of $850 to $500 if I paid cash. Job was finished by Friday afternoon and looks perfect. Seek and ye shall find. Just be patient.

If you know someone in used cars they usually get these mobile fiz a dent or scratch guys that come to the dealer to "fix up" the cars and resell them. I would Make friends with one and use those guys, they are usually much cheaper than maaco or similar places
