After Market Wheels and tires

I just bought a 2010 Tundra Crewmax SR5. I am being told by Discount tire that about 50% of the Tundra's that they put after market wheels and tires on come back because of vibration and rough ride. Has any one had issues? Thank you for the input.

Factory tires are going to ride better than aftermarket most of the time. I get a slight shimmy sometimes around 55-60mph. Doesn't happen all the time though.

It depends on the wheels. See if they are hub centric or lug centric wheels. Lug centric wheels are likely to have a shimmy because you have to be careful installing them and tighten the lugs incrementally so the lugs will center the wheel properly. Hub centric wheels center the wheel on the hub and can't be mounted off-center so no shake. They do make hub centric spacers to make a lug centric wheel fit like a hub centric wheel. Never tried them myself.

I have this esact set up on my 98 Avalon. Only a year after putting on after-market wheels (and putting up with vibration) they suggested the spacer. Since then there has not been any issues with vibrations.

All aftermarket wheels that have a hub bore larger than the factory hub needs rings. People spend lots of money on new wheels and balk about a few more dollars for the rings.
