| I've heard that you should use 0-20 for colder climates and 5-20 for warmer climates. Being in Texas, I'll stick to 5-20.

| Oil I switched mine to ROYAL PURPLE and it really quieted down the engine. It doesn't have as much noise when starting out in the morning now.

| Rarjar, I found that a 5 gal. plastic bucket such as something like driveway sealer comes in makes an excellent container to catch the oil. Of course this is with the understanding that you are using ramps or something to gain some height. I also found that a piece of scrap garden hose, or any piece of hose that fits, added to the oil filter drain tool really helps. Seems that most people fail to push the tool in far enough for it to seat in the filter housing which causes oil to run outside the tool. Really, the oil change on the Tundra is not that bad. Hope this can help.

| OK, thanks to mhadden's DIY instructions and P's suggestions of ramps and bucket, made my first oil change start to finish (including clean up and resetting maintenance reminder) in under 1 1/2 hours. Not really that bad... but I now realize the quality of the oil filter flute is important as the one I got from AutoZone sucks!! |
