    1st oil change reached on my 4.6L. Toyota 0w-20



    I have finally reached approximately 10k (9953) on my truck new since 3/10. I did change the filter and add a half a quart of mobil 0w-20 at 7k. For the last thousand miles or so, I have noticed the gas mileage was down about 1 mpg. After oil change, I have gained back that 1 mpg.

    The dealer I use offers lifetime oil changes, but on the invoice it shows they only charge $42! You cannot touch that by buying oil from Wally World. Yes they buy in bulk, but I had to wait an hour and a half for a 20 minute job that I made an appointment for. (I watched the tech lumber through the whole job when my truck was finally brought in). Now, that all the wear metals should be out, I will get a sample at 20k for an oil analysis. Stay tuned in another 8 months!

    My truck will be 3 years old in January and it has barely over 17k miles, LOL! It helps to work about a mile from home...

    Mine's a tad over 3 years old and I'm about to turn 70K grim.... travel between Louisiana and Texas, and beween East Texas and my ranch in Central Texas is the cause of that, lol!

    Although it is cheaper to go with conventional every 5k here is some proof for synthetic at 10k in a 4.7l tundra:
