Truckchamp.com group buys

Hi guy's,
Recently purchased some side bars from truckchamp.com ( shipping at the moment) and mentioned that I'm a member of one of the fastest growing tundra sites out there and would they be willing to offer us group buy discounts etc

Here's what they said -
We can definitely do group buy discounts. Please put together some suggestions, and we'll see what we can do.

So go ahead and check out their site and see if anything takes your fancy.

Just a thought (although this may have been done already and I have not seen it) but what about we do a survey to see what the most popular mods new owners are doing/want to do to their trucks. Once we know what people are looking for we could then gather names for a particular item to go and hit a vendor up for their discount?

If this sounds like a stupid idea let me know and I'll shut up

BK

Nope, that seems logical to me. If you go to a manufacturer/vendor with a number in the beginning that they are guaranteed to sell and then sweeten the pot with the fact that they will get free advertising as we run the group buy so others can get in on it you should get a better deal I would think.

You might be able to do something like a billet grille group buy. Only problems might be that not everyone wants the same grille and they don't list the gen-2 Tundra on their website when looking up a grille.

Just from checking out the various posts here on the site it seems that there are a few main items that new owners are always interested in getting when they first get their truck, these could start the whole group buying thing off, such as a billet grill like you mentioned, nerf bars, hight adjusting and levelling kits, wheels and mirrors etc

The problem as you say is how to narrow the selection down to one everyone likes. How many people do you guys think constitutes a group? 5/10/20 people? The less people we need in a group the more chance there is of you getting a multiple choice of one particular item for you to buy

As for websites, I think that the majority of good websites out there will offer us a group buy discount, so with that in mind if one does not stock the 2nd gen item we require at this time we can always go to another to see what they can do.

Do you think a group buy forum would be an idea also? somewhere we could keep it organized rather than spread across different areas.

Tube steps of some sort are very popular, and they happen to be something I'm interested in currently.
