I am in need of a new tailgate. I drive an 07 Double Cab 4x4 5.7L Tundra in the Timberland Mica (green) color. I would prefer if the tailgate had the "4x4" on it and the "Toyota Tundra," but if they weren't on it, that would be fine to. The only real musts are that it be the right color (Timberland Mica - Green) and that it be in good working order without any dings or serious scratches on it.

Did yours go missing?

Razorback, you might be severely limiting the "pool" of available tailgates by insisting that it be Timberland Mica. I mean if you can find one that color, that's great, but I suspect you might have better luck if you would consider any color and simply have it repainted to match your truck. My 2 cents!

yeah i know that asking that it be a specific color is limiting an already small pool, but ive got a few other options i can excercise but on the off chance someone had one like i need, itd be worth it.


and in response to the other reply, it didnt go missing - a table saw tried to get out of my truck bed. thing is top heavy like none other and one of my straps failed and when i was accelerating up a hill, the thing flipped out the back but was held against the tailgate. thing must wiegh at least 300 pounds and it bent my gate all to hell. i cant even get the tailgate to open now.

If you haven't already, you might want to check eBay. I've seen some Gen 2 Tundra body parts listed there on occasion.

Hope you can find one. According to this post: http://www.toyotatundraforum.com/gen...html#post12665 A new, unpainted tailgate will run you over $600. At least you can maybe get the welded/reinforced one.

Your insurance may cover what the deductible (you have) doesn't. It covers all that strange accidental stuff...like I had a mouse chew the main wiring harness in my Honda S2000 while in the garage. $1,600 damage...$50 my deductible cost. Self inflicted stuff, however, falls under collision I think. May save you a little...just an idea.
