Soul........the 33x12.5x18's will fit like a glove.................as tox said the 35's are going to rub....my 33.84 inch high tires don't touch at all and if I had 35's i would be hitting everything......aftermarket rims would change that but that's a whole other story........

| Question.... I have an extra set of toyo open country m/t's (33x12.5x20) and wondering if there is any way at all to stud these for winter? I'm not to keen on going out to buy yet another set of tires. but would like to have a little more control on ice with my toyo's ?

| I don't see in any of the literature that they are "pinned for studs" What I mean is that the tread has to have the holes for studs to be inserted. No holes = no studding. Misc info on studs. There's about 7 different size studs. The tire manufactures list what size to use in which tire Only new tires should be studded. This is because dirt gets in the stud holes and prevents the studs from "seating" in & will likely come out. If an incorrect stud in installed, say the next size up, it may push through the tire causing a flat. Too small studs will get buried in the tread and will be ineffective. Most studs are round, Hakkapeliita invented a square stud which has been proven to significatly inprove traction forward and backward but also side to side to help lateral traction. The hard metal stud pin and bottom flange, as well as the body of the stud, are all square shaped. The new structure gives excellent ice grip and improves the durability of the stud. ![]() ![]() |

| Crap Bill... I lived in Alaska for a total of 8 years, ran studded tires every winter, and didn't have a clue about what you just posted on studs! Thanks for sharing.
