EVERY TIRE SIZE MADE IS ENGINEERED WITH A VEHICLE, OR VEHICLES, IN MIND. WHITE LETTERING HAS TO BE BUILT INTO THE SIDE OF A TIRE AND THEREFORE 1. - ADDS TO THE COST OF A TIRE. 2. - ADDS EXTRA MATERIAL TO THE SIDEWALL THUS CHANGING HOW THE TIRE WILL GENERATE HEAT DURING NORMAL USE. HEAT IS A TIRES ENEMY. THAT BEING SAID, THE ANSWER TO YOUR QUESTION IS NO MOST WL TIRES CAN BE USED EITHER WAY UNLESS THEY HAVE A DIRECTIONAL TREAD. SOME SIZES ARE MADE BOTH WAYS, WL AND BLK. CERTAIN SIZES SUCH AS A HIGH SPEED RATED ZR TIRE ARE ALWAYS BLK. WL JUST WON'T FIT ON SOME REALLY LOW PROFILE TIRES AND WOULD LOOK OUT OF PLACE. YOUR QUESTION ON THE TIRE BAGS. MOST ARE FOR MARKETING AND WILL BE THROWN OUT AT SOME TIME. WE DON'T CONSIDER THEM TO HAVE A VALUE WHEN WE ARE DONE WITH THEM. I WOULD THINK A LOCAL SHOP WOULD GIVE YOU ONE. THANKS FOR THE QUESTIONS. THEY ARE A LESS EXPENSIVE TIRE. IMHO THEY ARE NO MICHELIN, BUT DON'T COST AS MUCH EITHER. OH BOY, ON GOING TO RAMBLE ON HERE A MINUTE. EVERYONE'S DRIVING SITUATION IS DIFFERENT AND THEREFORE A PARTICULAR BRAND OR TIRE TYPE MAY BE MORE SUITABLE FOR YOUR NEEDS. NOW, IF YOU DON'T DRIVE OR GO OFF ROAD MUCH A LESS EXPENSIVE TIRE WOULD PROBABLY WORK FINE. A MORE EXPENSE BRAND TIRE MAY NOT SEEM TO BE A VALUE WHEN YOU'RE SHELLING OUT THE CASH, BUT WILL GIVE MORE BENEFITS IN THE LONG RUN. BETTER TREAD LIFE, LESS IRREGULAR WEAR, FEWER INJURIES WHICH MAY TAKE THE TIRE OUT OF SERVICE PREMATURELY. THANKS FOR YOUR QUESTION. |

| What's my best option for a 20" tire for Tundra 4x4 that is on-road more than it is off-road, but when off-road is often in a very slick clay that tends to fill the treads and not clean out?

| I know that some people spray either oil or non-stick cooking spray to their deep tread boots to keep the clay from sticking between the tread. You have to wipe off the end of the tread so you don't bust, but it works pretty good. People also spray oil in their clean wheel wells to keep the mud from sticking underneath and make it much easier to clean the mud later. Maybe that will work on a tire as well. Just be careful when you first start driving on the road after spraying the tire.

AS FAR AS YOUR TIRE FOR THE ROAD AND CLAY, IT'S GIVE AND TAKE WITH TRACTION. THE MORE OFF ROAD A TIRE IS THE LESS APPEALING IT WILL BE FOR ON ROAD. THINGS LIKE TIRE NOISE, WET TRACTION ARE SACRIFICED. THE WRANGLER SIL-ARMOR IS ABOUT THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS, GREAT TRACTION, GREAT TREAD LIFE AND IT COMES IN P275/55R20. A LITTLE PRICEY BUT MOST 20" TIRES ARE. |
