It's the newer technology. Helps increase sidewall puncture resistance.

Josh, The 295's would be a great size, Not to big, but bigger. BUT THEY ARE 10 PLY.
The 10ply doesn't bother me too much. My last 3 trucks have had 10plys and I've had decent luck with them. They don't get flats like lesser plys do.

They are worth it if............

1. You're into serious off roading.
2. You need a rugged tire for your work or general driving conditions.
3. You don't care about road noise.
4. You don't mind a stiffer ride.
5. You want the tire because they are the best.

There was a member a while back that was telling me he had a lot of flats. I think he drove off road daily. The MT/R would be good for him.

I drive off road, snow, dirt roads. I won't be beating my Tundra through mud holes and over stumps and stones.
I will be getting Wrangler Silent Armors. If I don't think they will pull me through. I won't be going there.

Tough, decent ride, not to loud.

Thanks Warren, I drive through North Philly and the Badlands everyday. There are lots of pot holes broken glass and old train tracks. If your not familiar with North Philly or the Badlands, ill just put it to you this way, they are in the top five worst ghettos in the country collectively. Oddly enough, most of the guys on this forum buy their trucks for a legitimate purpose for a pickup. I also have a legitimate purpose, 5.7 liter, 4x4, front and curtain airbags. I am happy with my Michelins that came with the beast, but i will eventually need tires, thats why i asked about Kevlar.

Beer I don't think the Kevlar is bullet proof. The do make bullet proof vests out of it, not tires yet. You need run flats that way you can make it out of the ghetto

Beer???? I don't know about that nick-name?? although he does seem under the influence most of the time.
I was thinking something more like

Bee-man

These tires are not run-flats.
Run flat tires have super stiff sidewalls. Stiff enough to support the vehicle with-out air.
