| New Goodyears Hey Bill, Have you heard much about the new tires from Goodyear yet? They have a new MTR that looks fairly interesting: ![]() Goodyear Tires | SUV and Truck Tires | Wrangler MT/R with Kevlar Wonder how that tread pattern is going to do on the road. Is that center row supposed to make the ride smoother on the road and keep the tire noise down? What's that Tractivegroove stuff between the lugs on the DuraTrac? Is that supposed to help clean the lugs while driving? Goodyear Tires | SUV and Truck Tires | Wrangler DuraTrac How well does that kevlar layer work?

Goodyear not only released the new Wrangler MT/R with Kevlar They also released the new Wrangler DuraTrac This is one Nasty Tire for the Serious OFF ROAD driver. Things I like .................. It's available in a 6 ply at or close to the Tundra stock size. It's also available in some larger 17" & 18' sizes, but in a 10 ply. Yes Josh - This one only comes up to a 285 in our 18", but keep reading. WARNING This new MT/R is very expensive. LT275/65R18 6 ply at $275. If you are only looking for a off road look, This is very expensive.. If you work in the woods, or Mining and need a heavy duty rock climbing tire this is for you...... read on 19/32 deep tread ![]() ![]() ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The new DuraTrac comes in some new interesting sizes. BUT in 10 Ply 295/65R18 325/65R18 These are also very expensive with the 295/65R18 at $265 18/32 deep tread ![]() ![]() Finally, These are no doubt Top of the line tires. But, I wonder what Goodyear was thinking. In today's market and economy I wish they would have scaled it back a bit and tried to compete more with some of the other brands. Bill

That DuraTrac isn't really that expensive. Well it is, but it's cheap for an 18" tire with a little more aggressive pattern. Most are at or over $300. That MT/R is awesome but looks directional. (right?) I'm not going to do something that has so much extra cost in rotating. Good info Bill. So are the DuraTrac's in the 295 in the mail to my house yet?!!! ![]() ![]() ![]()

On that Jeep in the picture, it doesn't look like they are directions tires. And I agree about the prices. They are not cheap tires, but they are fairly similar in price to some other tires with an aggressive tread. BFG AT KO LT285/65R-18/E1 125R - higher price BFG MT KM2 LT305/60R18E2 121Q W -much higher price Goodyear Wrangler MTR LT275/65R-18/E1 123P -similar price

They aren't super directional, but it looks like the lugs have an angle on them that would be backwards if fliped. They are a really interesting tread pattern and it's hard to tell without having them in front of me. I wouldn't think they would make them directional though.
