This Young Man Was Happy !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just some pic's of a job we had in the shop today.
Thought some of you may find it interesting.

WARNING ----- THESE PIC'S CONTAIN A DODGE RAM.....

Well if your still interested, A customer wanted his 2001 Ram 1500 lifted and leveled.
He also wanted to increase his tire size from the OE - P245/75R16. He wanted bigger but not crazy big. so we went with LT285/75R16.

I told him before he orders anything he needs to bring in his truck so we could check it out.
There's nothing worse than a customer coming in with a $500 suspension kit only to find out he has other front end problems such as ball joints. It's an unwelcome expense.
Well we checked then entire truck for him and it was immaculate Not a loose part or anything.

The customer had a Tuff Country lift picked out. I was impressed with the kit. It was packed properly and contained everything we needed right down to the grease fittings.

Here's the kit. 3" lift for the front, 2" for the rear, plus new shocks.

Well my tech was working faster than me. He had the truck up on the lift before I could get a good before shot. This was the best I got.

These are his stock tires.

Here's the tires he/we picked. He wanted snow traction. These will definitely do it.

AFTER SHOTS

Lift plus new tires = HAPPY CUSTOMER

All and all it took about 7 hours with the alignment. Looks pretty good.

I don't think I'll be doing a lift.

I will be installing some Wrangler Pro Grades before snow flies. My Duelers still have some life in them but they won't be much good in the snow.
One of my guys was kidding with me today. He suggested that I keep my Grizzly in the back of my truck so I could pull myself out if I get stuck...

You'll need to carry a compact tractor.

Good job on the lift. Tires look pretty meaty. How are they on the road?

My Coopers started digging into the sand one day out at a friend's place. I was trying to go up a slight incline and make a turn at the same time and the rear started digging holes in the dry sand. Put it in 4Hi and got right out first try. I do have a 12K pound winch on the front of the truck for emergencies. You know, other people's emergencies.

They're ok. Not for the guy that's going to push it at hi speeds. I know this Guy and he's a mello driver.
I actually thought my guy would do the lift a little quicker. But in looking at it there's not much left attaching the whole front axle, just the brake hoses.

I believe he started as a junior. He's a fireman now, he's young so I expect he has some training to do before they turn him loose.
