| hey, i bought tires at jc penny's. they never had a tire shop in the capital district but i do remember the one in Honolulu. got a motorcycle tire for me and a set o 4 for my friend who was driving from cal. to s. carolina. the 5.60 x 15 was not on the triumph tr6. it was available on the TR-3 and TR-4 which I own. It was the size for beetles up to the 70's That size used to be the leader price tire in the ads before 155/80-13 became common By looking at the crager SS mag, it must have been on an old hot rod trying to duplicate the drag strip look. imagine those tires on the front of a 55 chevy with a big block and drum brakes trying to stop Is the tire shot? I may know someone who would want it as a spare. |

I think it's shot for road use. But if the guy wants it for show it hold air, has excellent tread. Some weather cracking which is the reason for replacement. There is only a couple of TR's that I know of in this area. Haven't seen them in a while. If I remember right we used P165/80R15 on them. |

| As i looked at the wheel, the rust revealed that it is a 4 3/4" gm bolt pattern, those are dual bolt pattern wheels. No gm came from the factory using that size There is a local triumph club so there are quite a few cars. the radial is as you said, the tr6 went to 185/70. I bought a set of michelins 225/50zr15 but never mounted them as they are too wide. I saw the tires were cracked, and just show material but some of the older show cars like to run with bias tires. Radials were factory options since the early 60s |
