About 2 days after I got my Tundra from the dealership my TPM light came on solid after flashing for a minute upon starting the truck. I called the dealer and he told me to check all tire pressures including the spare. I did and all are within spec. According to the manual a flashing light followed by a steady one indicated that there is a fault in the system. However since I bought the truck in the winter and have had to drive through LOTS of snow as my pictures indicate, could it be a buildup of snow on the undercarriage causing this problem? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Same issue with mine. Took it to the dealer. They couldn't find a problem so they reset the system with their computer and relayed the problem to Toyota. Haven't heard anything since.

When the system is reset, the truck should be sitting outside for a while first, so that it has time to "Cool Down" to a normal outdoor temp.

We had a pretty good cold snap the other day and my TPS indicator came on with all the tires being at pressure. The following day, it warmed up outside, and the indicator did not come on at all. Its a good idea to check them if the light does come on, but it sometimes gives a false reading.

A co-worker of mine had the TPM light flashing then going to solid. It started doing this almost immediately after purchase. From what he told me, nothing the dealership did could correct it, and they ended up replacing the truck's computer, which did fix the problem.

2007 crewmax 5.7 2x4, 4x4 was not available. the manual says the spare tire does not have a TPM. My light goes off all the time, however it seems to like a PSI of 35 these days.

Well I talked to a local mechanic up here and he told me that every vehicle in town that has a TPM system....even non-Toyota...is driving around with the light on. I am thinking that it has something to do with the large amount of snow and ice built up under my truck as it first started happening when I got into some heavier snowfall areas. The bit to check the spare tire came right from my service rep at Toyota he said that my truck had the sensor installed on the spare as well.

Wow, that truck looks great.

There should not be a sensor in the spare tire. Some dealers claim there are, others claim there aren't. Toyota said there isn't. Also people who have changed their sensors said there were only 4 listed in the Toyota computer when the new ones were put in.

Thanks Robbie. Yeah Tox when the rep told me about the spare tire I thought that was a little funny but who am I to question. If people have changed theirs and found only 4 than I will trust them and besides it's too damn cold to crawl under the truck to have a look. I guess I will have to put up with the light for now and hopefully it will return to normal in the spring. It may not bother some people but I am kind of anal about stuff like that. If the light is not supposed to be on there must be a reason right?

You could try reseting the sensors at a lower pressure. Drop the pressure of all the tires down to like 25 pounds. Then reset the computer per the manual instructions. Then raise the pressure back up to 35 pounds or whatever you run them at. That might help with cold weather fluctuations causing the pressure to change if that is the problem.
