Hankook Dynapro ATM RF10 Review and Pictures

I've been researching tires for my 1 ton truck for a while now with the following requirements:
  1. 10 ply LT tire
  2. Semi aggressive tread since I live out in the country and I spend half my life offroad in the muck.
  3. Quiet on the highway with uncompromised high speed and braking characteristics along with outstanding wet, snow and ice behavior.
What I ended up ordering is 2 of the Hankook (Korean) Dynapro ATM RF10 to try on the front of my 3500 before shelling out the $$ for 6. So I order them on a Sunday from Discount Tires Direct for $328 for 2 LT235/80R17E1 12R W with free shipping and had them sent directly to the installer where they arrived on Tuesday. On Wednesday I took the wheels in and they were mounted and balanced for $48 including metal valve stems. Wednesday night I drove them 136 miles and I fell in love. Quiet, ride great, corner as well or better then the OEM Generals, and did I tell ya they ARE QUIET. Last night it rained so I went for a drive and hit every puddle I could and they handled the water like a champ both deep in town gutter puddles and deep Kansas highway tire grooves at up to 90 MPH.

I've decided to order the other 4 with the big and most important tests to come. Towing, mud, snow, ice behavior and combinations of all 4.

I also included the Hankook tire data PDF.

Tread and tires look good. Let us know how they work out with more mileage.

I think Squid needs to change his sig picture. Seeing the FJ makes me want one more.

No doubt, when you look at other brands with the same sort of tread design, size and LT 10 ply rating, you're saving anywhere from $20 to $50 a tire. As a matter of fact these were $5 a tire cheaper then the OEM Generals seen in the one pic. (Which were a fine tire I got 60,000 miles out of which is great for a solid axle 1 ton 4x4 that is driven like a sports car.)

ALMOST went with these, but discount tire guy made me an AMAZING offer on MICH AT/2....that I could not refuse on 275/65 18. 20 bucks more each then the same hankook rf 10.

I am also curious on these.

After allot of reading, the only negative I read was vibration at certain speeds with 10 ply. Maybe they were not balanced well, and don't know if 10 ply is harder to balance. These are 3/4 to 1 ton truck proven tires, that's why discount has them on their internet site with positive results.

Looking forward to your follow up!!!

No they don't Beer...check the tire thread man...I have the biggest one listed that will fit on your wheel. They have nothing in the 34"-35" tire that will fit on your stock wheels!! Biggest they offer is like 33.2" OD.
