New tire help.

All,

I have been searching for a while but can't seem to find the info I need so here goes:

I am about to replace the tires on my '08 Tundra Crewmax. I have the TRD and tow packages with 18" wheels. I am looking to go with some thing a little larger tire-wise. I don't really want to lift it but I do some off-roading. I also haul dirtbikes in the back and sometimes on a hitch mount carrier. What is the largest size tire I can fit?

Thanks,
Ghost

Thanks. I looked at that thread and looks like only #7 and #9 are filled in and I don't have any sort of lift on my Tundra. Maybe I am missing something?

I think you can fit around a 34" tire in there without a leveling kit.

I have the BFG 285/65/18 tires that are 32.7" tall and I could not imagine going to a taller size without something hitting/rubbing at full turn and compression.
The next size up is the 305 and it is 33.7" tall, they would put the distance between the mud flap and tire at less than 1/2" just sitting there.

I am pretty darn sure that the 285/65/18 is the largest tire you can put on a stock Tundra without having to do any kind of trimming and/or bending.

See this thread if you want pics of that size BFG AT 10 ply KO on an unlifted Tundra:

Thanks for the link re.ac.tor. I think those are what I am looking for. Like you, I just want to get the p-rated tires off and fill out the fenders a little. Thanks for the help.

I've always run BFG AT KO's on all my trucks (all Toyota) and I've never run them less than 60k miles. I've had my truck since July, at 11k miles already it won't be long.
